I have few ties to Ferryhill. I used to work for my pal here, I had one of the most memorable gigs of my life mixing another pals band in the White Horse (I think) and I spent the Millennium New Years Eve in Ferryhill Station Club mixing yet another pals band.
Aanyhoo, someone suggested this idea to me a good 6 months ago and I shelved it because I couldn’t make it work. Ferry Hillbillies? Ferryhill Billies? The Dilema. It needed something “Cowboy” to tie it in and then I stumbled across this line on Wikipedia: “Ferryhill sits on the western edge of the Ferryhill Gap”. Sorted.
